HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KHOU) -- Several shots were fired during a robbery at a GameStop northeast of Houston early Thursday afternoon.

A war veteran reportedly witnessed the robbery and exchanged gunfire with the suspects, killing one of them. The other suspect was located following a search.

Harris County Sheriff's Deputies placed North Shore M.S., North Shore H.S., and Harvard Elementary on lockdown during the search.

Early reports indicated the GameStop on Wallisville Road near East Sam Houston Parkway was held up shortly after noon. The men fled the store, and gunshots were fired in the parking lot.

Views from Air 11 showed detectives looking over bullet holes and casings in the parking lot in front of the store.

The lockdowns have since been lifted
