Daniel St. Hubert was arrested in Queens for the alleged stabbings.
The New York Police Department has arrested a 27-year-old man in connection with this week's stabbing of two children in Brooklyn, one fatally, Detective Brian Sessa of the NYPD confirmed Wednesday night.
Daniel St. Hubert was arrested in Queens in the stabbings that took place Monday in the elevator of a housing complex. The arrest was made shortly after 8 p.m., Sessa said.
Police tracked down St. Hubert through forensics, Sessa said.
The police department would not get into detail about how it tracked down St. Hubert.
St. Hubert allegedly stabbed Prince Joshua Avitto, 6, and Mikayla Capers, 7, multiple times in an elevator as the two rode upstairs to get ice cream from Prince's home. Price was later pronounced dead at a hospital and Mikayla was taken to Columbia University Medical Center.
Prince was the cousin of Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson.
