Largo, Florida –"Volunteers of America" and Home Depot teamed up to spruce up a war veteran's yard.

The group provided outdoor improvements like a new privacy fence, some much needed mulch, grass seed, and other landscape maintenance needs.

Things that 70-year-old Army Veteran, Karl Novotny, could not afford to do on his own.

Wendy Whitescarver expressed the importance of giving back to those who served our country.

"The gentleman here today is so excited. It's wonderful," said Whitescarver.

Novotny also received a new roof from Home Depot and "Volunteers of America" about a year ago.
