On Thursday, Hillsborough County leaders welcomed the IIFA to Tallahassee for Bollywood Day at the Capitol.
Several groups of dancers from north Florida performed for visitors, including Bollywood star actress Preity Zinta.
There were several speakers including Lieutenant Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera and Zinta, who said she was amazed by the performers.
"I asked the people in the audience if they were dancers and none of them were. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them were IT people, some of them were doctors or lawyers, but I think it's so sweet and heartwarming for them trying to put something up for you and not worrying about being judged," Zinta said.
Zinta's fans got the chance to take some photos with her afterwards. Organizers say this is the first time the IIFA Awards has come to the U.S. and it'll be here in Tampa April 23-26.
