TALLAHASSEE, Florida -- Relief could soon reach your pockets in the form of sales tax holidays. State lawmakers voted in several holidays to remove tax from certain items this year.

Tax analysts say the measure would save taxpayers overall about $37 million. It includes a sales tax holiday for hurricane supplies, energy efficient appliances, back-to-school items and more.

"This is stuff that Floridians are already buying. When we have a hurricane warning come through, people are going to go out and spend this money and it's nice for the state government to allow some tax relief," said Morgan McCord with Florida TaxWatch.

The bill is now on Governor Rick Scott's desk and he's expected to sign it.
