JOHNS CREEK, Ga. (WXIA) – Police say a man was arrested after breaking into a home while wearing nothing but a cowboy hat in Johns Creek on Monday.
When he broke in to Cori Davenport's home, she called 911.
"They're like, 'What was he wearing?' And I'm like, 'Absolutely nothing... a cowboy hat,'" she said.
Davenport heard her daughter scream and when she came downstairs, she found Ashdon Gibbs in her kitchen in his birthday suit. Police say he tried to steal a motorcycle from their driveway before coming inside.
The family's surveillance cameras caught the whole thing.
"Our garage was up, he came in through the garage and she was in the kitchen, he just walked in," she said.
But that was just the end of his day. Police say his alleged crime spree started when he stole a car Monday morning and it just got weirder from there.
"The subject had driven a stolen vehicle that he had stolen from Decatur, burglarized two homes within the Prestwick subdivision, at some point, took off all of his clothes," said Lt Chris Byers.
Gibbs didn't waste any time getting comfortable in Johns Creek.
"In one of the houses that he broke in to, he did consume a beer, while he made himself a meal and watched baseball on their TV," said Byers.
Gibbs wouldn't tell police why he took his clothes off, or even how he got so far wearing so little.
"He was running pretty fast... not a lot of clothes on, so nothing to weigh him down," said Davenport.
Gibbs has been charged on numerous counts including two counts of burglary, criminal trespass and impersonating a police officer.
