Sarasota, Florida -- The DUI unit for the Sarasota Sheriff's Office had an unusual encounter while out on patrol early Tuesday morning.
According to a post on their Facebook page, the Sheriff's Office says deputies found a 6-foot alligator out for a leisurely stroll on University Parkway and heading for the northbound ramp to I-75!
The deputies helped light the reptile's way to a safer path than the interstate.
And no, the Facebook post notes, the Sheriff's Office does not know if the gator was under the influence!
