MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KSDK) – Viewer Christine Miller shared this photo of a Maryland Heights police officer blocking traffic to help a goose family cross the highway on Mother's Day.
A police spokesman says the geese were stuck near the inside median of Highway 364, and couldn't cross because the cars were coming around the corner too quickly.
"The officer happened to show up right on time, and guided them to the grass while stopping traffic for a brief moment," she wrote.
"When my husband and I came upon the geese on the wrong side of the highway, we didn't know what to do. This police [officer] showed up and was a true hero to the Mother Goose and her family."
The officer has since been identified as Steve Bergner.
