PHILADELPHIA — A U.S. Airways fight had to make an unscheduled landing when a service dog pooped twice in the aisle, sickening passengers with the odor.
The May 28 flight from Los Angeles to Philadelphia had to make an unscheduled stop in Kansas City, the Philadelphia Inquirer (http://bit.ly/1keOdZH ) reports.
US Airways spokesman Bill McGlashen says service dogs are usually excellent flyers, but this one had a problem. The flight continued after the mess was cleaned up on the ground.
Kansas City International Airport spokesman Joe McBride told KCTV5 that it was not an emergency landing.
Jim Kutsch, president at The Seeing Eye guide dog school in Morristown, N.J., told the Inquirer that such incidents are rare, but that dogs occasionally get sick on planes, too.
