Clearwater, Florida -- A car struck a mailbox and a parked car before going through a pool enclosure and winding up in the pool Tuesday night.
The driver fled the scene, according to Clearwater police, but has been caught.
Police were called to the 1500 block of South Prescott Avenue about 8:15 p.m.
The car's 24-year-old driver and a passenger ran from the scene after the crash, police said. The driver was caught a couple blocks away, and is being questioned.
Police identified the driver as Kyle Strecker, 24, of Largo, and he is charged with leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.
Strecker was westbound on Prescott Avenue when he lost control of the car, police said.
The car sustained $1,000 in damage while the pool enclosure's damaged was estimated at $10,000, according to police.
