OHIO (CBS) - Judith Jones of Dillonvale, Ohio, had an explanation for her husband's stab wound of the neck when police arrived. She said she was dreaming, CBS affiliate WTRF reports.

Judith Jones's 16-year-old daughter called police about her father being stabbed in the neck.

When officers arrived they found the 49-year-old victim with his neck sliced open.

At the scene, Jones reportedly told officers she was dreaming she was filleting fish when the incident occurred -- a first for Jefferson County Sheriff Fred Abdalla.

"I've seen stabbings before, but I've never had anybody tell us that they were dreaming that they were filleting fish when they committed a crime. It's a first for that," Sheriff Fred Abdalla

Sheriff Abdalla says his officers are familiar with the family.

Abdalla adds complaints had been filed against the 44-year-old Jones this past February... after she allegedly made threats against her husband's life.

Police believe alcohol was involved in this incident.
