The French understand the benefits of a good glass of wine.
Especially for those who have less time to enjoy it.
According to the Agence France-Presse, the bar at Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital in central France will open in September and offer wine and spirits to terminally ill patients, as well as their family and friends.
Head of the center, Virginie Guastella, told AFP the bar would "cheer up the difficult day-to-day existence of patients."
"The aim is to 're-humanize' patients by improving the quality of their day-to-day existence and also by giving them the pleasure of being able to offer and receive," she added.
Staff will receive special training from a social anthropologists on how to handle patients who come to the bar. The bar will also stock beer, whisky and champagne.
