SAN DIEGO, Calif. (CNN/KGTV) - A wheelchair-bound robbery suspect led police on a lengthy chase through downtown San Diego Tuesday evening, all captured on video.

It started when a K-Mart employee confronted the suspect in the parking lot of the store after he was suspected of stealing several items, CNN affiliate KGTV reports.

That's when he reportedly pulled out a gun and took off in a van. Cops were called to the scene, prompting a pursuit.

Police attempted to stop the man but he refused to pull over. That's when authorities used spike-strips down to help stop the wheelchair accessible van.

With dozens of police surrounded the van with guns drawn. They ordered the man to surrender, seen in the video. The wheel-chair bound suspect appears in the van and then comes out and surrenders to police.

He was placed in handcuffs without incident.
