In January, I told you about Amazon's AutoRip feature, in which the company started offering free MP3 versions of CDs customers purchased going back to 1998.
Today, Amazon said it's extending AutoRip to include vinyl, so if you happened to buy any vinyl albums from the site in the last 15 years, today you may find some new music in your Cloud Player library.
I love this idea, mainly since it's a huge hassle to convert vinyl to MP3s. However, I can't say the deal really applies to me (or my husband, the vinyl fan in our family), since he buys most of his records at independent shops.
This prompts me to wonder what other digital treats Amazon has up its sleeve. Personally, I'd go crazy if the site offered digital copies of the many DVDs I've purchased over the years ... but perhaps that's a little too much to hope for.
