(USA TODAY) A Corpus Christi Hooks fan charged the mound to attack an opposing pitcher that plunked a Hooks batter.

Midland Rockhounds pitcher Blake Hassebrock hit Corpus Christi's Telvin Nash in the leg, and after Nash took his base, 35-year-old fan Nikolas Swope ran on the field and reared back to punch Hassebrock. The pitcher backed away, which gave one of his teammates enough time to push Swope to the ground.

Swope was escorted off the field by Hooks' hitting coach Tim Garland. The Hooks are the Class AA affiliate of the Houston Astros.

According to KZTV 10, Swope is facing a charge of criminal trespassing and is accused of threatening assault.
