Clearwater, Florida -- After decades of watching Tom Bostic roam the sidelines in Clearwater, the Tornados kicked off a new era Friday night with the debut of head coach Donnie Abraham.

The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive back was an assistant on Bostic's staff last season.

Tarpon Springs greeted Abraham rudely in his first game at CHS. Spongers quarterback Jarret Battyanyi threw what looked to be an incomplete pass to Montel Johnson, but the refs ruled it was a backwards pass. Johnson scooped it up and raced 66 yards for the score.

The Spongers would add two more scores after that before the end of the half. Patrick Miller scored an 11-yard touchdown to make it 31-0 and Michale Ford capped the first half scoring with a 27-yard score.

Tarpon crushed Clearwater 58-0. They are at Osceola next weekend. Clearwater plays at St. Petersburg.
