Clearwater, Florida -- The Calvary Christian Crusaders and the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers wanted get their seasons off to the right start, but the night belonged to the Crusaders on Friday.

The Crusaders surprised the Buccaneers as they would beat them in three matches. This came as a shocker because last season the Buccaneers were the 4A District 10 champions and a state contender.

In the first two matches, the Crusaders would dominate the court beating the Buccaneers in the first match 25-21 and 25-19 in the second match.

The third match would be a nail bitter with both teams tied at 18 before the Crusaders would get the lead once more. A final spike out of bounds by Berkeley Prep would end the game.

The Crusaders will face the St. Pete Catholic Barons on Sept. 2 and the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers will host the Bishop Moore Hornets on Aug. 29.
