(Free Press) -- Welcome to the bigs, Ezequiel Carrera.
The Detroit Tigers centerfielder called up from Triple-A Toledo to replace Austin Jackson made a spectacular diving play in the third inning tonight against the New York Yankees, robbing Jacoby Ellsbury of what at least could've been a bases-clearing double.
Many fans criticized Jackson, traded to the Seattle Mariners last week in the deal that brought David Price to Detroit, for his lack of diving in centerfield; we're guessing they're happy with Carrera's big play.
We'll leave the rest to you to watch; it's worth it, trust us.
And here's a great reaction from Yankees veteran shortstop Derek Jeter, who had to retreat to first base after the catch.
