Tampa, Florida -- USF has parted ways with one of its football coaches, the university has announced. USF athletic director Mark Harlan made a statement on Tuesday evening:

"USF Athletics has high expectations for each and every student-athlete, coach and staff member. To that end, I have accepted the resignation of Hans Straub from the position of head strength and conditioning coach. I thank him for his contributions to USF Athletics and wish him well in his future endeavors. A national search for his replacement will begin immediately."

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Straub made controversial comments on Twitter about former USF Bulls player, Aaron Lynch. The San Francisco 49ers drafted Lynch in the 5th round of last weekend's NFL draft. That prompted Straub to tweet:

"Thought an organization with 5 Super Bowl titles would have a stricter draft criteria. Clearly, integrity & character are not a priority."

The tweet was deleted. Bulls head coach Willie Taggart and 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh are so close they are like brothers. Taggart convinced Harbaugh to draft Lynch despite past criticism of Lynch's lack of hustle. Harbaugh defended the decision to draft Lynch.
