The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made a surprise trade with the New England Patriots, landing the Bucs with a six-time Pro Bowler.

The Patriots are sending Pro Bowl guard Logan Mankins to Tampa Bay, in return for an undisclosed draft pick and tight end Tim Wright, the Bucs confirmed Tuesday.

The deal comes less than 24 hours after the Bucs met with Richie Incognito to try to determine if one of the central figures in the Miami Dolphins bullying scandal might be an answer to their problems at guard.

General manager Jason Licht said he felt fortunate to obtain the 32-year-old Mankins, but did not rule out the possibility of signing Incognito, too.

Asked where things stood with Incognito, coming off a suspension for his role in last season's bullying scandal, Licht replied the free agent guard remains an "option."
