U.S. striker Jozy Altidore is available for Tuesday's match against Belgium in the World Cup's round of 16.

Altidore strained his left hamstring in the first half of the opener against Ghana on June 16 and didn't appear in the final two group matches. The 24-year-old has been working out on his own in recent days, but how much (or if) he will play Tuesday is unknown.

"He's available. This is what we want, this is what we hoped for," said U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann. "This is what the medical staff has been working on since the injury.

"Just having him with us is huge and how many minutes, we'll see that during the game."

Altidore has scored 23 goals in 74 matches for the national team since his debut in 2007. He went through a prolonged goal drought before scoring twice in the United States' exhibition win over Nigeria prior to the World Cup.
