Tampa, Florida -- The exit to Dale Mabry Hwy. from northbound I-275 closed temporarily Thursday at 8 p.m.
The closure is part of the I-275 widening project from the Hillsborough River to SR-60. The exit will reopen on Sunday morning at the same time that the Lois Avenue exit on NB I-275 reopens.
The exit to Dale Mabry Hwy. from northbound I-275 will close temporarily beginning Thursday at 8 p.m.
On Friday morning, commuters will want to consider alternate routes to avoid major congestion. The Gandy Bridge and Courtney Campbell Causeway will provide good alternates for Pinellas commuters headed into Tampa, and Tampa commuters should avoid the eastbound portion of I-275 as well as Kennedy Blvd., both of which will most likely be very slow-moving.
Good eastbound alternates in Tampa are Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Cypress St. and Swann Ave.
Additionally, the NB I-275 entrance ramp from West Shore Blvd. will close Saturday at 8 p.m. and will reopen alongside the Lois Ave. and Dale Mabry Hwy. exits on Sunday.
Traffic on eastbound I-275 from the Howard Frankland Bridge to downtown Tampa should be free-flowing again on Monday morning.
