As another school year begins, drivers everywhere should remember to be extra careful and stop for school buses when their lights flash and stop arms extend.
A couple of videos have gone viral showing near-misses as careless drivers breeze through the stop signals.
The following video, posted by the West Virginia Department of Education, shows a video from 2008 where not one, not two, but THREE cars illegally drive by the stopped bus, with the third car nearly hitting a student:

Another video from June shows a truck driver passing a Minnesota school bus that had stopped to pick up a student. 13-year-old Alexis Schwartz says the semi nearly hit her as it blew by at a high rate of speed:

After state troopers released video of the near-miss, the truck driver contacted authorities and admitted he was behind the wheel. 48-year-old Allen Morris is now facing two misdemeanor charges.
Thankfully, no child was harmed in either of these videos, but they do highlight the need to always pay attention to the road in front of you, and to always stop for school buses.
