Two fatal crashes on I-4, 8 miles apart, now clear

PLANT CITY, Fla. -- Two fatal crashes happened on I-4, 8 miles apart from each other on Sept. 18, 2016, around 6 and 7:30 AM, and have multiple lanes blocked.

UPDATE: The roads are now clear, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. 

The first was a fatal motorcycle crash that happened around 6:20 AM, with only the inside lane open around 17 MM on I-4. The motorcyclist, now being identified as 23-year old Krystal Andreu, lost control and fell off onto the roadway where she was struck by another vehicle. Andreu died from sustained injuries.

The second was a fatal crash that happened at I-4 near the connection to I-75. The crash was caused by a failure to yield the right-of-way of another vehicle, ultimately causing the truck to smash into a concrete culvert and overturning, ejecting an unidentified person, age 31. This crash has all eastbound lanes blocked. The driver was sent to Tampa General and died from sustained injuries.
