WARSAW, Minn. (KARE11) - Rice County officials are hoping conditions stay dry after the area saw a deluge of rain Wednesday night.

"If we get more rain, it could start washing away some of the road banks," says Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn. "We got over two inches of rain in less than an hour."

County crews were out Thursday making sure drains were cleared from debris after the area saw heavy downpours, hail and winds up to 60 mph.

"We had reports of golf ball- to baseball-size hail," said Sheriff Dunn. "It was consistent for at least five minutes."

Several cars in Warsaw saw significant hail dents, but that was the only damage reported.

In parts of Wabasha and Goodhue County, the hail was so intense snow plows were called in to push it off the roadways.
