The official National Hurricane Center forecast doesn't call for Ida to return to hurricane strength at this point, but the storm looks impressive now and is above previous intensity forecasts.
Ida has been downgraded to a tropical storm as heavy rainfall continues over much of northern and eastern Nicaragua. Its maximum sustained winds have decreased to 65 mph.
