Sunshine with isolated afternoon storms today

Weather Forecast for June 22, 2017.

After a week with numerous rounds of showers and storms we will wrap up the week with mainly dry and hot conditions.

Temperatures on Thursday managed to climb into the middle 90s with the official high temperature at Tampa International at 95°. The record for Thursday was 96° set in 1948.

Your Friday will start off with plenty of sunshine which will quickly warm temperatures throughout the day once again. As we get into the afternoon temperatures will level off in the low-middle 90s under partly cloudy skies.

Our rain chances today will remain relatively low, but a few afternoon showers or storms can't be completely ruled out. Through the second half of the afternoon you may come across a few isolated showers or storms, but anything that forms will begin to dissipate after sunset.

The weekend will consist of high temperatures around 90 with 30-40% afternoon rain chances on both Saturday and Sunday.

A cold front dropping in from the north and west will combined with increasing moisture in the atmosphere to produce better overall rain chances as we head into the first half of next week.

In the meantime, have a great weekend!
