Hurricane Nicole forms in Atlantic; No threat to U.S.

The 14th named storm of the hurricane season, Nicole has strengthened to become a hurricane but is expected to stay in the Atlantic Ocean, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.

As of 2:00 p.m. Thursday Nicole is located 345 miles south of Bermuda and 620 miles north of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Nicole has maximum sustained winds of 80 miles per hour and is moving northwest at 8 mph. It is forecast to 

There are currently no coastal watches or warnings for Nicole but the storm is expected to gain strength over the next two days followed by some weakening.
