VENICE, Fla. - The death toll in Haiti continues to rise, topping more than 800 as of Friday afternoon. And Haitian officials report more than 30,000 homes destroyed.
Agape Flights a non-profit Christian disaster relief group out of Venice, is loading up a plan with food supplies, generators, chainsaws and tarps.
The disaster relief flight leaves Saturday, and will support missionaries in areas hit hardest by Hurricane Matthew.
Pilot Jeff Yannucciello says it will be the first of many flights to Haiti to help hurricane victims.
Agape Flights needs help with supplies plus donations, considering that each flight costs $5,000.
