The end of the Jacksonville Beach Pier appears to have been ripped off by waves during Hurricane Matthew.
The end of the pier was washed away Friday morning, as Matthew made its way up the coast of Northeast Florida.
The original pier was washed away during Hurricane Floyd in 1999.
It was rebuilt a few years later.

The Jacksonville Beach area has already seen extreme flooding as Hurricane Matthew makes its way toward the area.
