Clearwater, Florida---As soon as you walk in the doors of Tampa Bay Grand Prix in Clearwater, you instantly have the need for speed.
Travis gets pretty excited when he learns these electric cars can zip around the track at up to 45 miles per hour.
Before long we are racing around the course and crashing into barriers.
When Travis arrived for the shoot, he was quiet and seemed very shy. I was pretty sure it was going to be nearly impossible to get him talk about himself and his experience in foster care. It did take a little while before he was comfortable sharing information about himself but that's not unusual considering we just met.
His answers were thoughtful and heartbreaking. He's only fourteen but has been in foster care since he was three years old.
It was great seeing him have so much fun and cut loose on the track. When I asked if he had a good time Travis said it was one of the most exciting days he's ever experienced.
