Suspect arrested after 'active shooter' call at Dallas middle school

One person is in custody after police received reports of an active shooter outside a middle school in Southeast Dallas.

DALLAS – One person is in custody after police received reports of an active shooter outside a middle school in Southeast Dallas.

Police were called to E. B. Comstock Middle School at 7044 Hodde Street, just off U.S. 175, just after 11 a.m. Friday.

Sources told WFAA's Rebecca Lopez that no shots were fired, and police were investigating whether anyone actually had a gun. A Dallas ISD officer arrested the suspect.

A woman was seen in a police squad car in handcuffs outside the school.

The scene outside the school saw parents in tears amid recent tragedies at schools. Just 10 days earlier, 17 people were killed in a shooting at a Parkland, Fla. high school. Earlier Friday, two people were killed in a shooting at Central Michigan University.
