Happy fourth of July weekend! Kate Wentzel and Chief Meteorologist Jim Van Fleet here tracking some scattered evening storms, with the focus across areas along and east of I-75.
Hot, and muggy in between any storms for the next four days with high temperatures topping out in the upper 80's and low 90's. Light winds will start from the south / southeast, and then by mid-morning come around to the southwest / west for the rest of the day.
Fourth of July Weekend will find a 40% coverage of thunderstorms Saturday afternoon, and 40% coverage Sunday. Monday the 4th is looking like just a hint lower coverage but still scattered storms are part of the day. Storms should be winding down Monday evening around the time most festivals and cities would try to send up fireworks (usually around 9:30 / 9:45).
