Justin Granit

Justin Granit joins the 10News WTSP sports team from WHEC in Rochester, NY. Justin has also worked at TV3 in Winchester, VA and ESPN. During his career, Justin has covered the Super Bowl, Final Four and PGA Championship.

Hey, I’m Justin Granit, Sports Anchor/Reporter at 10News. Sports are fun, so let’s have some fun covering them!

Super Bowls, National Championships, Final Fours, I’ve been fortunate to cover events like these. My hope is to make you feel as if you are at a major championship when watching 10News.

I was born and raised in New Jersey. I played soccer and ran track at East Brunswick High School, and went on run for the University of Maryland track team. Go Terps!

After graduating from Maryland, I spent six months at ESPN as a production assistant. During my time in Bristol, I edited highlights for ESPN programming. Shortly thereafter I moved to Winchester, VA for my first on-air job as a sports anchor/reporter at TV3 Winchester.

My next stop was in Rochester, NY as Sports Director at News10NBC. I met two of the most influential people in my life in Rochester: My fiancée Amanda and Courtney Wagner, at the time, a 17-year-old battling brain cancer.

I was first introduced to Courtney on her high school basketball senior night while she battled cancer. I shared her story that night, and from there Courtney went on an incredible journey. Her dream was to meet Ellen DeGeneres, so the hashtag #GetCourtneyToEllen was created. The hashtag went viral, spreading across the country, and within two weeks Courtney was a guest on the “Ellen DeGeneres Show.” If you Google #GetCourtneyToEllen, you can find Courtney’s full story. I promise; her story will inspire you.

I love my job, every day is fun, and I hope you enjoy watching the stories!
