Hello! My name is Madison Alworth and I am a reporter for 10News. I love the beach and being outside, so I don’t know why it took me so long to get here, but I could not be more thrilled to be reporting in the Tampa Bay area!
My career in journalism started in college. While I was at Yale University, I founded Yale TV, the first official news broadcast for Yale. I served as co-founder, co-executive producer, and co-anchor. When you start something, you have to do it all! The experience taught me a lot about journalism and made me determined to continue on this path of telling stories that matter.
After graduating, I moved to New York City to be a part of the News Associate program at NBC. During that year I worked at Nightly News with Lester Holt, in the northeast bureau, and at the Today Show. I found my permanent home at TODAY where I helped produce the morning show. While it wasn’t always easy to get to work before 6:30am, the stories and reporting we covered made it worth it. That job took me to places like the sunny shores of Bermuda, the US Open Tennis Championships, and to ‘Hamilton’ the musical. One of my favorite reoccurring jobs was to serve as the producer for “Ambush Makeover.”
Most recently, I worked as a Correspondent and Producer at the digital news start-up, Cheddar. The financial news network was started by the former President of Buzzfeed. And while it sounds like we love cheese, really what we love reporting on is the financial markets, political news, pop culture, and everything in-between! On any given day, I would be handling an interview with the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue to discussing the latest on Ariana Grande.
I am so excited to be working and living in beautiful Tampa, Florida. Please connect with me on my social platforms. I hope to bring you the news you need to know, the stories that matter to you, and sprinkle in some fun along the way.
