ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- It’s one of the dirtiest fundraising events around.
The 9th annual America II Extreme MudWars is set for this weekend and this year, the annual tradition will be moving to Lake Vista Park.
Teams will face off in eight mud-filled events including a mud volleyball, belly bumpers and a mud obstacle course.
It took two weeks to set up this event, with 5,000 sandbags, 10 8-ton dump trucks of soil, eight fire hoses and 30 concrete barriers all brought in to set the course.
Proceeds from America II Extreme MudWars will go to TASCO (Teen, Arts, Sports, and Cultural Opportunities), Secrets of the Sea and Hands for Hope.
Spots still are open for complete teams and “free agents.”
The event is free for spectators.
