The 2019 Lionfish Derby fishing tournament is canceled this weekend due to predicted “inclement weather.”
Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium made the announcement Thursday afternoon on its Facebook page.
However, Sunday’s tasting portion of the event at the WAVE Center is still planned. The sold-out event features five local chefs serving lionfish.
