TAMPA, Fla. -- Astrophysicist and pop culture icon Neil deGrasse Tyson has canceled his upcoming appearance at the Straz Center.

Tyson, 60, was planned to bring a new talk to the Tampa performing arts center with a "hilarious view of the world from an astrophysicist's point of view." People magazine previous named him the "sexiest astrophysicist alive."

The Straz Center said Tyson has canceled several of his upcoming talks and they have not been rescheduled. Tickets for the Straz Center appearance will be refunded.

The cancelations come just weeks after Patheos.com published accounts from two women accusing Tyson of inappropriate sexual behavior. Last week, Tyson said he intends to cooperate fully with an "impartial investigation" into the allegations of sexual misconduct.
