Cardiac Arrest through the eyes of a survivor

Survivor Brittany Williams has made it her mission to educate the public on the importance of learning CPR.

We were reminded of the importance of CPR today during an interview with a cardiac arrest survivor. Brittany Williams was 24 when she went into cardiac arrest while visiting New York with her family. Thankfully, two ophthalmologists were able to quickly perform CPR and help save her life. Williams was an active, healthy 24 year old who never imagined she’d be in the hospital after suffering cardiac arrest. She later learned she had an undetected heart disorder. According to the American Heart Association, about 90 percent of people who suffer out of hospital cardiac arrest die. Williams has made it her mission to educate the public on the importance of learning CPR.
