Former MLB pitcher talks living with diabetes

Today, he joined us to share his journey and talk about how he’s giving back to young people who also suffer from the condition.

Jason Johnson is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who paved the way for many others with diabetes. Jason was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 11. Throughout his childhood and young adulthood, he managed his diabetes through finger pricks and shots. While playing for the Detroit Tigers as a pitcher, he became the first Major League Baseball player to get permission to wear an insulin pump on the field.
