Shula Burger Soho is participating in a special project to promote food sustainability. Zydrunas and Erin Rackauskas are the co-owners of Shula Burger Soho and joined us to explain what the James Beard Blended Burger Project is all about. Erin explains through the project, the restaurant is offering a specialty burger that is made out of 25 percent mushrooms. Americans eat approximately 10 billion burgers each year. Mushrooms take very little land and water to grow which in turn helps the planet. The blended burger will be available through July.
