You can throw a wedding at this brewery for $1,000

According to a recent study, a wedding costs $29,000 on average.

ST. LOUIS — Weddings are known for being expensive, but one St. Louis spot is trying to make the special day affordable.

According to a recent study, a wedding costs $29,000 on average.

Kristina Goodwin helps run Earthbound Beer with her husband and head brewer, Stuart Keating.

The couple thinks the affordable wedding will appeal to anyone open to straying from tradition.

"The $1,000 wedding, as we envision it, is the ultimate millennial wedding," Keating said.

Show Me St. Louis’ Dana Dean stopped by Earthbound Beer to check out the space.

“We thought, what if you could just do an affordable, fun, easy wedding where you didn’t have to make decisions… It was just like roll in and have a party!” Goodwin said.

So, what’s included for $1,000?

The ceremony and reception at the brewery will be on Sunday nights from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

"The brewery space is huge and beautiful we can fit 100 easily," Goodwin said.

Guests will receive hors d'oeuvres from nearby restaurants.

"Comes with a couple options for food but it’s like a little check list. We have nugs, chicken nuggets from Byrd and Barrel, we have some vegan and vegetarian options from Gooseberries," Keating said.

There won’t be a wedding cake, but there is something sweet from Whisk Bakery.

"Comes with cupcakes. You get to pick the flavor," Keating said.

‘Flowers to the People’ provides flowers for a bridal bouquet and decoration.

Earthbound Beer will also provide the backdrop for wedding photos! And you can either bring in your own photographer or Kristina and Stuart will offer to do it for free.

Head brewer, Stuart, will be the officiant.

The alcohol is not included in the $1,000 wedding, instead there will be a cash bar.

"We have 14 to 16 taps of craft beer and we'll have wine," Goodwin said.

You can either DJ your own wedding or roll the dice and let the Kristina or Stuart play the hits.

So far, no $1,000 weddings have taken place at Earthbound Beer. But the couple just launched the deal.
