Big dill! Pizza Hut launches pickle pizza but there's a catch that may leave you with a sour taste in your mouth

The pizza starts with a hand-tossed crust, adds buttermilk Ranch, cheese, crispy and spicy breaded chicken breast, onions and pickles. That's the good news.

HOUSTON — Pickle lovers will be happy to hear that Pizza Hut is adding a pickle pizza to its menu.

From pickle-flavored chips to pickle beer and even pickle slushes, culinary creations starring pickles have been trendy for a while. In fact, RodeoHouston offered a Hot Cheeto pickle pizza this year.

However, Pizza Hut claims it's the first national fast-food chain to serve pizza with pickles.

The pizza starts with a hand-tossed crust covered in Buttermilk Ranch dressing, cheese, crispy chicken with a kick of Nashville Hot Seasoning, onions and spicy dill pickles.

"Our recipe is all about great flavor, balancing the tanginess of pickles with other classic ingredients we know taste good on our beloved pizza," Pizza Hut Head of Food Innovation Penny Shaheen said.

That's the good news.

The bad news may leave pickle fans bitter and with a sour taste in their mouths because this may be the most limited-release offer ever.

Pickle pizza is only available at the Pizza Hut on 932 8th Avenue in New York City. That's not all. It's only available from June 9 - June 11 for carryout pizza ordered in-store only. Seriously, Pizza Hut?

If you think Pizza Hut should serve $17.99 pickle pizzas everywhere -- or at least in the Greater Houston Area -- call their customer service line at 1-800-948-8488 or tag them on socials @pizzahut.
