MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — A kitten that was dumped in a parking lot was struck by a car, and Manatee County Animal Services officials are searching for who abandoned the baby cat.
MCAS posted a photo of the kitten, who they have named "Von" -- which means "Hope" -- found Monday afternoon.
They said Von is in critical condition.
The officials believe the cat was abandoned in the parking lot.
"Any owner who abandons an animal and such animal suffers injury or malnutrition or abandons any animal in a street, road or public place, without providing care is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree," they said.
