Fourth of July Homecoming: Military husband surprises wife during lunch break

To make this homecoming extra-special, Cory Terry arranged for the surprise to take place where the couple had their first date.

LAKELAND, Fla. — The last thing Tania Terry expected was to see her husband, Cory Terry, walk through the doors while out to lunch with family and friends.

“I was surprised,” she shared

Cory is an automated logistical specialist with the U.S. Army. The couple welcomed their first son into the world about four months ago. Cory was able to come home a day after the birth but had to head back on deployment a couple of weeks later.

“I had to turn around and just leave. I'm missing a lot of the moments,” Cory said.

To make this homecoming extra-special, Cory arranged for the surprise to take place at Outback where the couple had their first date nearly two years ago.

“I wanted to do something big for her," he said, explaining that he wanted to prove to his wife that he can surprise her.

Not only was Tania surprised that her husband returned home, but he also surprised her with a wedding ring set.

The couple didn't have time to pick one out when they officially got married.

Cory was able to pull the entire surprise off, ring and all, with the help of his family.
