AWW! Johns Hopkins All Children's shows adorable way they're caring for NICU babies

"Swaddle baths" provide stimulation to the babies, allowing them to feel protected while adapting to the new sensation.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- What could be sweeter than a small baby being swaddled?

Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital shared a video of their new method of bathing the delicate babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

"Swaddle baths" provide stimulation to the babies, allowing them to feel protected while adapting to the new sensation.

Regular baths and sponge baths can be sensory overload for the premature babies, which the swaddle baths hope to help with.

"Nurses in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit tend to teach mothers of preemies most often, mainly because they’re in the hospital longer than other infants," PR Specialist Ellen McVay of Johns Hopkins adds.

The special bathes swaddle the baby first and then immerse the baby with the blanket into the water.
