LARGO, Fla. — A man from the Tampa Bay area just turned $30 into $1 million when he won the top prize on a Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket.
The Florida Lottery said Matthew Anderson, 38, of Largo won the cash from The Fastest Road to $1,000,000 Scratch-Off game. He chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $790,000.00.
The Florida Lottery said Anderson bought the winning ticket from the Circle K on Gulf Boulevard in Treasure Island. That Circle K will get a $2,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
The Fastest Road to $1,000,000 Scratch-Off game launched in February 2020. It has 155 top prizes of $1,000,000 and more than $948 million in cash prizes.
Since 1988, Florida Lottery games have paid more than $75.6 billion in prizes and made more than 3,000 people millionaires.
The Florida Lottery contributes more than $39 billion to enhancing education and sending more than 880,000 students to college through the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.
