Tampa, Florida -- Fifteen of the most beautiful, talented and accomplished young women graced the stage Friday night for the Miss India Florida pageant.

Busch Gardens hosted the event, involving talent and fashion categories, featuring young women from all over the state who competed for a chance to represent Florida in the Miss India USA competition.

10 News Anchor Dion Lim emceed part of the show with a Mrs. World 2012 April Lufriu.

Proceeds from the night go to Care India, a charity fighting poverty and empowering woman and young girls.

Roshni Hannon, a former Miss India Florida, says contestants benefit from taking part. "These young women are putting their lives on hold for a little bit, for an amazing experience," she said. "You make friends, you get over stage fright; there's a lot of good you walk away with, whether or not you walk away with the crown."
