PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. -- Two women were arrested for allegedly abandoning a 66-year-old woman to die in a house strewn with filth and cockroaches.

Gulfport Police have placed caretakers Jennifer Susan Poulos, 41, and Debra Germain Poulos, 61, after officers found a 66-year-old victim dead in an "uninhabitable" house around 8:31 p.m. on Friday.

Detectives said that the two women cared for the unidentified victim for at least the past eight months at a residence at the 5300 block of 29th Avenue South. They then left the woman alone and moved out of the house eight or 10 days prior to police finding the body of the victim.

An investigation revealed that both women "intentionally failed to provide adequate care for the victim, especially medical care once they realized how frail she was," according to the report.

Both Poulos were charged with one count of neglect of an elderly or disabled adult.

Police have not identified the victim pending next-of-kin notification.

GPD's Child Protective Investigations Division have also removed Jennifer Poulos' four-year-old son from her custody as it was discovered that the child had been living in deplorable conditions.
