LITHIA, Fla. - About 140 Hillsborough County school resource deputies and school security officers will take part in an active shooter training exercise at Newsome High School in Lithia on Friday.

The training, meant to simulate a real-life threat inside a school, will include dozens of teenage actors with fake injuries, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

The training will start at noon and is expected to end at 5:30 p.m.

"There will be increased deputy presence and actors with apparent wounds in the area of Newsome High School on Friday," the sheriff's office said. "Please do not be alarmed or contact emergency services."
